Sir Paul McCartney has revealed that he would not be signing a pre-nup deal with fiancee Nancy Shevell to safeguard his £495 million fortune.

The Beatles legend, who has been dating the New York socialite for four years, is said to be "ecstatic" at the prospect of marrying for the third time this summer.

"Paul trusts Nancy implicitly," the Daily Star quoted a source close to the couple as saying.

"She is wealthy in her own right and is't after him for his money. There is no pre-nup but Nancy told me they are having a simple one-page legal document she is more than happy to sign. It states that, in the event of a divorce, she will not make any claim on the trust funds of his children or grandchildren," the source added.

McCartney first met divorcee Nancy, heiress to a £250 million trucking company, during his marriage to Linda Eastman, who died in 1998.
