Actor Mithun Chakraborty was one of the first to start his hotel down South. The Monarch hotel is apparently one of the most famous hotels in South India.
Actor Suneil Shetty was one of the first few to get into hotel business. His father too had a restaurant and Suneil kept the family business alive, by having his own restaurants. Model-turned-actor Arjun Rampal too was bitten by this bug and now owns a hip lounge in the Capital called Lap. Actor Bobby Deol too has opened his restaurant, Someplace Else, in Mumbai. Actor Dino Morea, along with his brother, owns the eatery chain, Crepe Station, in Mumbai.

Actor Ayesha Takia’s husband restaurateur Farhan Azmi, who owns Koyla and Cafe Basilico, has got his wife hooked on to the business too. Ayesha had earlier told After Hrs, “I am working on our restaurants in Mumbai and our dream project in Goa. We are working on a boutique hotel in Goa. And I am completely immersed in making this dream come true soon.”
Munni aka Malaika Arora Khan had earlier mentioned to DNA, “I am looking at starting a world class lounge in Bandra. It will be a hangout where I or my friends would love to go to. With lip smacking international delicacies and variety of beverages, there will be something for everyone. Right now we are looking for a suitable place in Bandra.” It’s clear that the trend that was once made popular by the Hollywood celebrities seems to have been taken over by our desi celebs.
