Mumbai: Sabyasachi Mukherjee has not only made a name for his sartorial talent but also as a jewellery designer. And if that's not enough, he recently got into interior designing and home decor as well. And it doesn't stop at that -- Sabya is all set to venture into designing kidswear now.

"Kidswear has been on my mind for quite some time now, mainly because I have been asked by so many of my friends to get into it. Also, I am looking at launching my flagship store in the country by next year and that seemed like a good time to get into it," he explains, adding that he will be designing both for girls and boys.

What's his inspiration? "A lot of the inspiration for this line will be from children's books; that way, the kids will relate to it. It will be a fun line that will draw from Enid Blyton's books, particularly The Magic Faraway Tree, as it was one of my favourites. That apart, there will be several other fairy tales I will be using as references."

So what about his flagship store? "Well, I plan to launch three stores by next year -- the first one being in Delhi, followed by one in Kolkata and then one in Mumbai. As a matter of fact, I have already finalised a place at Kala Ghoda. It's an old building that dates back to the 1940s and boasts of an old-world rustic charm. I am doing the interiors myself," he ends.
