Keep it slim and fit to party till December 31

The parties have begun! And it’s time to burn the dance floor right till December 31.

DNA helps you gear up for the many long nights ahead...Dietician and nutritionist Pooja Makhija says, “First things first, you have to keep yourself hydrated so drink loads of water and this will help you look fresh for all your parties.

A glass of vegetable juice should be included in your breakfast every single morning as this will keep you energetic and your skin will glow constantly. And compulsorily have two to three servings of fruits everyday.”

Pooja believes that protein is absolutely essential in one’s diet. She recommends, “Vegetarians should have milk and milk products, soya and tofu. And non-vegetarians can have chicken, fish and egg-white. Proteins will not make you feel irritable and will make sure that you groove through the party season. Most importantly, don’t skip meals.”

Once you are sorted with the right basic high-energy diet plan, consider these magic foods that will keep you going for hours together. Nutritionist Naini Setalvad says, “Anything green, yellow and orange is a must. So have palak, carrots, oranges, pumpkins among others. Dried apricots are a magic food. Keep a few of these in your handbag and pop them whenever you feel hungry. Apricots are low in calories and make one feel full and energised for long periods of time.”

Naini adds, “Pistachio nuts are also wonder food. 30 of these nuts only have 100 calories and so are also called the skinny nuts. These will keep you away from junk foods and work wonders on your skin.”
