Here are 10 signs to predict that your relationship is going sour

1. Everything’s an issue: When the mundane things are bringing forth frowns between you two all the time, it’s a clear indicator that you are getting on each other’s nerves. Time to step away.

2. Whose line is it anyway?: If you see him frequently fidgeting with your phone when you’re not around, you can be sure he’s got some serious trust issues, and you deserve
better.

3. Public arguments: Do you argue every time you go out? Turning a fun night into an ordeal and making it uncomfortable for your buddies? It’s time to recognise the danger of moving ahead with this relationship.

4. ‘You’ time: Sometimes you need time away from your man, to be with your girlfriends or get things done where he’s just going to be in the way. If this repeatedly becomes a bone of contention, it’s best to take some permanent ‘you’ time and find someone who really appreciates you for who you are.

5. Constant rescheduling: If you find that your plans are constantly getting pushed aside in lieu of something else, take a moment to think — ‘Do I really need this?’ A relationship is a two-way street, and he’s been going the wrong way for too long.

6. Getting a word in edgewise: When he jumps to conclusion before you’ve stated your point, especially about another man, the balance in your life will be rudely interrupted forever. It’s time to bolt.

7. Evasive parents: If the ‘love of your life’ is shying from introducing you to his folks, wake up and smell the coffee! This is a relationship of convenience and isn’t worth your time.

8. Frazzled friends: You’re making plans with friends, but they’re apprehensive that you’re bringing him along. Take heed of their concern — they see your relationship for what it really is, and it’s probably not good.

9. Excuses: If his long absences are justified by lame excuses, be sure that he’s up to no good. Either confront him about it, or make a clean break while your heart is still secure.

10. Cheat me not: Once a cheater, always a cheater! Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Cut your losses and get away!
