It was a self-help formula for Tony that he built in his school days while struggling with subjects, particularly math, which worked wonders for him. He thought of sharing this unique recipe with others to help people discover the power of the brain.

Since then, Tony has been conducting workshops and doing, what he calls, ‘mind mapping’. And to those who don’t know what it means, it is Tony’s self-invented exercise. “Mind mapping is a tool that helps human brain think,” he says. His workshops include several activities. “We discuss how the brain functions, we talk about people’s problems with learning, memory and concentration,” says Tony.

“As the brain gets older, it should get better, but the reason that it doesn’t generally happen is because we are taught in the wrong fashion,” Tony explains. So what are these wrong ways? “For instance, we take down notes in blue or black ink thinking it would seem tidy and neat and good. But that’s horribly wrong. The brain’s main language is symbols, not words. So if we think only in words and note words, we are not using our main power of learning through images,” he explains, adding, “Also, the colours blue and black are both dull and boring. And when your brain is bored — it shuts down automatically, which is why so many students find studying boring. Thus, I invented my own math using colours which are brain stimulants. I use arrows and symbols, which make learning easy.”

Tony has authored books like Use Your Memory, Master Your Memory, Use Your Head, The Speed Reading Book and The Mind Map Book. Besides, he has also co-authored more than 100 books which have been published in 30 different languages.
