Mumbai: It's a night that promises to electrify London, with none other than Prince Charles being the chief guest. Titled the Royal Rajasthan Gala, this star-studded charity evening will unfold at the historic Banqueting House in London on November 9.
It's being organised by Upasna Kamineni, (the daughter of Apollo Hospital Group chairman Prathap C Reddy) and Gaj Singh of the erstwhile Jodhpur royal family.
Performances by exotic dancers with Rajasthani food and ambience will set the mood for the auction where magnificent jewels and Indian-themed couture will go under the hammer. The organisers expect to collect around one lakh pounds from this event which will directly go for the treatment of underprivileged head injury patients in India who cannot afford the treatment themselves. Among the glitterati present for the evening will be Elizabeth Hurley (with former flame Hugh Grant), Bryan Adams, Sting and Sarah Jessica Parker. Kabir Bedi and Sigourney Weaver will be the emcees for the night and even Amitabh Bachchan is expected.
Upasna told DNA: "It will be a night of high profile social networking. We have members of the royal family, who have been very passionate about the cause, coming down for the occasion. Liz Hurley is closely associated with us and Hugh Grant has also confirmed his presence. Apart from them, Bryan Adams and Sting are also on board. Bryan is actively working with us to raise awareness. He'll be auctioning a signed guitar for the charity."
