Q. What hair styles are in vogue for men and women?
A. With men, the ‘in’ thing is curls. With all the influence of films and popular media, everyone wants that soft and bouncy look with curls. Women, on the other end, are wildly experimenting with colour. This festive season, every second lady wants to colour her hair.

Q. How much of a priority is styling one’s hair today? Has it taken precendence in the list of priorities?
A. There has been drastic change, like a 90%. Gone are the days when people wanted to straighten their hair or just colour them red, burgundy or mahogany. Bangalore has become fashion conscious in the past one year. The 70’s and 60’s look no longer prevails here.

Q. As an owner of one of the leading salons of the city, do you come across hesitant people who fear changing their looks?
A. I would like to term them conservative people. It’s a standard thing for a woman to walk into a salon and ask them to keep the length but give them something new. But they have to realise that they need to experiment.

Q. What do you think is one of the biggest fashion faux pas with regards to hair?
A. All teenagers these days make a very prominent mistake; they go to the wrong places, get their hair damaged and then regret it for a long time. While the hair will definitely grow, the damage cannot be undone.

Q. Do you encourage one to keep experimenting with his or her look?
A. It is very important to keep experimenting with your look and especially your hair. Well, what you wear starts with your hair. Go ahead, cut it, its just hair after all it will grow anyway.
