Composer Andrew Lloyd Webber's private art collection, which contains works by Rossetti, Millais and Waterhouse, is to go on show this month for the first time.

The multi-million pound display at London's Royal Academy of Arts will replace a postponed major exhibition of Egyptian art.

Lloyd Webber originally concentrated on mainly British 19th century paintings, but has since expanded the historical range of his works.

"I sincerely hope that it will give as much pleasure to those who visit the exhibition as it has given me, my family and friends, over many years," he said in a statement.

The Andrew Lloyd Webber Collection will be staged from September 20 to December 12.
