Just as it was heating up for the season, the city experienced a welcome break in its share of summer showers. And since one can’t sit at home, waiting for the rain gods to relent, we thought the ‘wet look’ would just be the answer to revel in the downpour.
After Hrs gets model Mahithi Bharathesh to dress up in a stylish avatar for the look.

Bharathesh has a few shows to her credit and was super excited to be part of Look Of The Week column and put her best foot forward, with all enthusiasm.

“The theme for this week’s edition is just perfect, considering the weather in the city right now. I loved every bit of the makeover, especially the make-up and styling by Robert. I loved the shades he chose for my eyes and it was great fun shooting in the rains,” said Bharathesh.

Contour my face

Too much make-up spoils the wet look. So, Robert kept it simple, by giving a natural feel and keeping it  subtle. He first cleansed Mahithi’s face and applied a touch of foundation to brighten it up. He then used a blend of green and blue eye shadow, followed by a nude gloss for the lips.

Check that outfit

Keep it short and trouble-free — that’s the mantra one should keep in mind when stepping out during the rainy season. She decided to pick a light blue sleeveless top and pair it with a pink short skirt for the look.

Style that hair

One needs to keep their hairdo simple, yet smart for the wet look. In order to avoid clumsiness, Robert decided to give Mahithi some French curls. He curled it up and used a bit of hair mousse, gel and spray to set the look right. The curls also went well with the outfit she was wearing.

Accessorise  me

The right dress needs the right footwear to go with it. And we don’t need to tell you to avoid heels when it’s raining! Mahithi played it safe too — she chose a pair of white pumps that was not only comfortable to wear but complemented the outfit well. She also decided to keep the jewellery simple by wearing a long neckpiece.  Lastly, what is the wet look without an umbrella? Mahithi picked a transparent blue umbrella that went with the theme perfectly.
