The girls residing in Cambridge University have been asked to make less noise while having sex.
Student union president Lizzy Cole forwarded an email to 400 undergraduates at Newnham college after 30 people made complaints in a month.
"Newnham corridors funnel sound and the walls are very thin. Please remember to be discreet in your activities, especially during late/early hours of the day," The Sun quoted Cole as writing in the mail.
She added for good measure: "We're not all sluts."
The warning has embarrassed many thrill-seeking girls. A 20-year-old student said: "It's so embarrassing to think people have been listening. I'm blushing. It's easy to forget the walls are so thin when you get carried away."
Another girl admitted: "When I read the email I cringed — I thought it must refer to me."
A visiting male student said: "That place is a nightmare to escape from when drunk. And as for the walls, I thought I was going to break them at one point."
Cole, in the email, also requested the students to desist from playing loud music.
