Mumbai: All dressed in red -- you must be the bride. Yes, the wedding season has yet again dawned upon us. But keep the worries at bay as designer Vikram Phadnis is all set to help and provide consultation to people -- free of cost!
The designer is also showcasing his Lakme Fashion Week collection and his Fall winter collection at a city store. He says, "This is the second time I will be at the store directly interacting with consumers. It certainly helps me to understand what people are looking for."
Last season when Vikram was at the store interacting with customers, he was swamped with a positive response. He says, "I didn't even have lunch. There were so many customers. In fact there were brides who came in with their jewellery as they wanted to match their outfit with it. Also, their extended families and close friends came along to help the bride but ended up buying stuff for themselves!"
During his consultation at the store, Vikram will also clear the air around designerwear being highly expensive. He says, "People think that designerwear can't be custom-made according to their budget. I have created so many lehengas and saris for brides-to-be in a budget they are comfortable with."
Vikram offers a few tips to brides before deciding on their outfit. He says, "Firstly, never follow trends. Your wedding day needs to reflect what you are and how you feel, not follow a trend because you want to be in vogue. Personal choice is top priority. Secondly, go by your gut feel. If you do a lot of market research you will get confused. And thirdly, remember a wedding is not only about the clothes, it's the whole look -- the make-up, jewellery and the attitude, everything completes the look."
Vikram will be available at Fuel, Kemp's Corner, for free consultation on October 30, 31 and November 1.
