Mumbai: Hey all you brides-to-be, the countdown has begun. November 19 (the first shaadi mahurat) will mark the onset of this wedding season. It's just a few days before your marriage and we are sure that all your relatives would be fussing over your health, skin, food and others. DNA gets experts to sort you out seven days before the wedding. Just follow these simple tips and enjoy your special day.
Fitness and well being
You must be totally stressed out after days of shopping and running around. And you must be anxious and tense, so you definitely need to calm down.
Yoga expert Payal Gidwani says, "The bride-to-be may not get the time to do asanas but a few stretching exercises in bed is possible. Also, everyday for five minutes inhale in five counts, exhale in 10; do this just twenty times and you will feel relaxed and stress-free."
Deanne Panday, fitness expert, recommends a detox massage. "Pamper yourself and meditate for some time everyday. Also you can do cardio exercise two days prior to the wedding and stop it thereafter."
Nutrition
Watching your food intake just before your wedding is very essential as the wrong food can make you look lousy and feel lethargic on 'the' day.
Nutritionist Naini Setalvad informs, "The things that are a strict 'no-no' are sugar, white flour, aerated drinks and fruit juices. These will create water retention and will make you bloat." She adds, "What you definitely must have are lots of fruits, vegetables, salads. Opt for whole grains but no wheat and most importantly, go completely vegetarian for the last seven days. Follow these regimes and you will lose a little bit of weight, plus your skin will glow and also you will feel energetic on your shaadi ka din."
Skin and hair
Dermatologist Rohini Wadhwani says, "Firstly, sleep well every night to avoid dark circles and dullness of the skin. Plus, drink lots of water. Avoid any weight fluctuations as that also makes the skin look dull. Since it is winter, most brides will face the problem of dry skin. Home-made packs made of milk and almonds are the best remedy for
dry skin.
You could also make a body pack with channe ka aata and milk. Many brides also face the problem of tanned skin due to pre-wedding shopping schedules and travelling in the sun." She further suggests, "In case your outfit has a low back, you should opt for a back treatment to remove all blemishes and marks." Most importantly, avoid stress as that will definitely take a toll on your skin."
