An exhibition at Artists Centre that has been held annually since the last ten years to showcase the works of the member artists, will take place there soon. And often, artists have landed up submitting older works for the exhibition.

To give some focus to the exhibition, artist Brinda Miller and art connoisseur Sarayu Doshi decided to subscribe a specific format and give a particular theme to the artists and new art works need to be created on these lines.

Says Brinda, “This year’s theme is Elements. It includes air, earth, fire and water. We have received about 100 entries of landscapes and abstract work.”

She adds, “I have to admit that there are a few works that do not adhere to the theme but the aim is to give visibility and a platform to the member artists of the Artists Centre, so we have allowed some random works this year but slowly and steadily we would like to completely streamline this exhibition and make it an important event.”

The exhibition this year is divided into two parts wherein 50 art works will be showed in each show. Sarayu Doshi says, “There will be too many works on display but as they are of the same size and that is 2/2, the display is sure to look good.”

She adds, “We usually get 200 entries every year but as we demanded for new works, the entries this time have dwindled by half. But what is more important is to showcase quality art works.”
Another addition to the show is an award. This time around the best art work would be awarded with a prize.

Brinda says, “The award will recognize the best talent. And this will also work as an encouragement for members to send more entries and good quality art works continuously,” ends Brinda.
