Mumbai: On the back of the 26/11 first anniversary coming up, accessory designer Malani Agarwalla is paying tribute to the city which has given her so much. She is coming up with limited edition bags, totes and clutches which are more of a collector's item to show one's support. They sport a collage of Mumbai's quintessential iconic institutions like the Rajabhai Towers, Gateway of India, Oval Maidan, Taj Mahal Palace and Tower, Kala Godha etc in sepia tones. Interestingly, the mosaic of photographs are all vintage and in sepia tones. The silhouettes of the bags are pure leather in shades like olive green, browns, tan and blue.

"It's my way of doing something for the city that I love so much and it's a way of not forgetting what happened to this beautiful place almost a year ago," says Malani, adding,"as a designer I have done something in my capacity that I know best and feel that I owe it to this city to do my own bit, however small it may seem."

"Part of the proceeds from the sale of these bags will go towards the Mumbai police force which fought bravely against the terrorists risking their lives," says Alka Nishar of AZA where the bags will first be displayed before making their way to Malini's signature stores across the city.

"It's less about fashion and more about contribution of the spirit. We want to say that we're proud to be Mumbaikars," sums up Malani.
