With candidates and judges changing every season, the only constant in reality shows are the anchors. If not for those little laughs or comments, the show could as well be just another boring competition with no entertainment.

With candidates and judges changing every season, the only constant in reality shows are the anchors. If not for those little laughs or comments, the show could as well be just another boring competition with no entertainment. DNA carried out a survey amongst the youth to find five leading anchors, who keep viewers glued to their television sets.

Hussain Kuwajerwala: With his charming personality, Hussain wins hearts across the country with his anchoring skills. From hosting shows like Shabaash India, Khullja Sim Sim, Indian Idol, Nach Baliye and Dance Premier League, his spirited voice and humility involves not just the people on the show but also the audience. Hussian adds laughter with his great sense of humour and keeps the show alive and exciting.

Rann Vijay: A deserving Roadie, Rann Vijay, won the reality show on MTV and went on to become a popular face on television. With a blend of compassionate behaviour and an adventure seeker, he is definitely a good host. Good looking and extremely stylish, Ran Vijay is a hit with the ladies. His ability to empathise with participants on a show, as well as be stern to get them to do a task is commendable. Overall, the guy is a complete package for a good anchor.

Karan Johar: A famous director hosting a celebrity talk show, is definitely popular and loved, for he brings on screen lots of gossip and the real face of Bollywood stars. Since the show involves his “best friends”, people expect personal moments and natural reactions by their favourite actors. A fun anchor, who brings the sets alive with casual remarks and no hang-ups, he is definitely preferred by many.

Ayushman Khurrana: A former radio and video jockey, Ayushman has gone on to become a popular television host. Also a find from the Roadie reality show, he is quite a hit on the small screen. His spontaneity, sense of humour and a fun loving attitude is what works for him. Youngsters associate with his language and style of presentation and like his ability to relate to his participants and the audience.

Nikhil Chinapa: Almost a veteran host now, Nikhil has been a radio and video jockey, besides also being a very popular disc jockey. A consistent host, this Bangalore boy is much loved for his casual and conversational style. With a sharp sense of humour and a great voice, Nikhil has the ability to balance between being cool and composed, while striking a chord with the audience or participants. He also has a great ability to handle awkward conversations and makes for a great host.
