ShareNew York: Indian-born fashion designer Anand Jon may be behind bars but his sister Sanjana seems to be keeping his fashion dream alive.
Sanjana, who just showed her own collection during Wills Fashion Week in New Delhi, said that her brother inspired her new range of clothes.
"The line is my own, but he is my inspiration and my aspiration. I'm just going off the path that we'd worked on before," the New York Post quoted her as saying.
Sanjana also revealed that she hasn't spoken to her brother, who's awaiting a prison assignment in Kern County, Calif.
Jon's lawyer, Angelyn Gates, said that his client is doing "as well as one could expect. We're in the process of appealing the conviction in California. Obviously we were disappointed in the verdict, but new evidence has come to light that we feel will help his case."
Jon has been sentenced to 59 years to life behind bars after being convicted of rape and sexual assault charges on a harem of would-be models.
He also faces charges in New York and Texas.
