On the eve of the anniversary of the 26/11 terror attacks, the band Indian Ocean has said that the music they created for Anurag Kashyap’s Black Friday could well become the anthem for the tragic 2008 incident.
“The music of Black Friday was loved by many people because it had the same pain, grief, horror, shock and anger that the people of the country felt. Last November’s terror attacks too made the country go through the same rush of emotions. I think our movie soundtrack suits the mood of 26/11. Now that the anniversary is a day away, we might as well play the sounds as it has universal appeal,” said Dhruv Jagasia, the manager of Indian Ocean.
He added, “It is a day of national sorrow and we need an anthem to remember the pain we went through. We live in a fragmented society and an anthem can make us connect. We are all human beings first and then comes religion or caste. Pain and grief unites everyone — that’s what the numerous terror attacks across the world have shown.”
