Animals have played an important part in environmental protection and human protection. With an animal decompost, plants get the nutrients they need, which makes them important for the survival of humans. Thus, it would be safe to say that plants and animals co-exist, which is why without even one of them, the ecological balance would be off.

World Animal Day is celebrated every year to raise awareness about the wellness of the species. It is observed on October 4 every year. The day teaches us the importance of caring, protecting, and spreading awareness. The day is also called 'Animal Lovers' Day'.

History:

World Animal Day is the feast day of the patron saint of animals, St Francis of Assisi. It was first celebrated in 1925 in Berlin, Germany. Heinrich Zimmermann organized an event, for which over 5000 people showed up.

Significance:

A reminder of how animals are important for our lives, World Animal Day is observed differently in different countries. Animal welfare campaigns, rescue shelters, fundraising events, spreading awareness in schools and colleges are a significant practice. The event this year is a virtual affair.

Coverage:

A UK-based animal welfare charity Naturewatch Foundation launched the first 'World Animal Day' website in 2003. Along with raising awareness, the website focuses on dos and don'ts in keeping the ecological balance.

By the year 2020, various celebrities have raised their voice in showing care towards animals. They have urged to not fall for rumours which state that animals could be harmful and have strongly opposed practicing cruel punishments on animals. A few have even asked to be more sensitive and try to avoid practicing a ritual which involves sacrificing the innocent species.

They deserved it! After the long days of taking care of you and keeping up with you, they deserve some pampering, don't they?

2. Photoshoot!

Make memories while you still can. Go on and click those photos which you can cherish for a lifetime.

3. Work it out

Who needs a partner in working out when you have that pretty pet, am I right? Go enroll for some yoga classes for your pets and let them shake it out.

4. Partyyyy

Make their favourite kind of cake, get them dressed and go groove it to some dance music. What better way to celebrate the day?

5. Movie night

By now you would already know that the pets absolutely love some movies. So go figure what kind of movie your pet is interested in (there are apps to help you too, in case you are lost) and make it a movie night with that fluffy friend (or any other really, no judging).
