As clichéd as it sounds, my mother is the most inspiring woman in my life. Her virtuous and empathetic nature has helped me develop a holistic approach to life. I've always admired her ability to effortlessly play the dual role of a homemaker and a media professional. I vividly recollect the constant media coverage my father was exposed to during his stint as Police Commissioner of Mumbai and how calmly my mother separated her professional obligations from her personal feelings on the matter.

Not one, but three women—my mum and my two aunts—inspire me tremendously. Mum was an HR professional at a media conglomerate. My elder aunt Sonali Bendre is an actress, while my younger aunt Gandhali Paranjape was a journalist with a leading newspaper. Their chilled-out nature, life choices, work experience and the way they have grown in their respective fields have given me an idea of how I want to lead my professional life.

My wife Nikhila, a public relations professional, is not only my greatest strength, but also my biggest support. She has helped me become more focused and goal-oriented.
