A few days ago, Miley Cyrus got mauled by her pet cat. Here are some other celebrities who've had similar experiences with animals
With the amount of security that most celebrities have around them 24/7, you'd think they'd be safe from all sorts of injuries. But that's not always the case. Animals occasionally attack when they are disturbed or when humans come too close for comfort. From cats to puffins and even seemingly friendly dolphins, here are some of the celebrity run-ins with animals.
Miley Cyrus
The songstress is known for being an animal lover, often posting pictures with her numerous pets and paying tribute to those who have passed away. However, Miley recently had a not-so- pleasant run in with her cat. The soon-to-be Voice judge shared photos of her injuries on Instagram, "F**ked up by a pussy cat f*******ck." It seems she suffered scratch marks on her arms as well as her head.
Ryan Seacrest
Back in 2008, Ryan was on holiday in Mexico taking a swim in the Pacific Ocean when he had a close encounter with a shark. He said he felt something swim close to his legs but luckily the shark only nibbled on his toes. He had said, "He took a bite, and he left." The American Idol host was lucky he wasn't left with a serious injury.
Shakira
While on holiday in Cape Town back in 2012, the singer was enjoying some time on the beach when she noticed a sea-lion in the water nearby. Shakira decided to get a little close to the animal when it suddenly got out of the water and grazed the star with its teeth. She posted a photo of the wound to her hand on Facebook page, writing, "One of (the sea lions) jumped out of the water so fast and impetuously that it got about one foot away from me, looked me in the eye, roared in fury and tried to bite me."
Susan Sarandon
Dolphins seem like friendly creatures. However, Susan got to see their wild side when a dolphin injured her in the 1970s. The actress was spending some time in the water with a male dolphin at a lab in San Francisco when its jealous better half, a female dolphin, bit her on the wrist. The injury was quite severe and took a few months to heal.
Paris Hilton
The socialite is an animal lover and thought of adding an unusual creature to her brood — a kinkajou. In 2005, Paris was parading her pet around her shoulder when it decided to attack her. The kinkajou bit Paris several times while at a media event. Once she got bit so badly that she had to get a tetanus shot. Needless to add, Paris didn't keep her pet much longer.
Gordon Ramsay
The Hell's Kitchen star may not be a favourite with animals. Once while on a trip to Iceland, Gordon got bit on the nose by a puffin. He was trying to hunt the bird to use as part of his exotic dish for an episode of a TV show. Gordon got close to the bird when it decided to take a snap at him. The chef needed three stitches after the attack.
Chris Brown
In 2012, the rap star seemed to have angered a flock of seagulls that went for him as he spent time on the beach in Miami with his girlfriend. Chris was about to apply some sunscreen when the birds swooped for him and pecked at the singer. He wasn't really injured post the incident.
