What did Maestro Zubin Mehta receive for his 80th birthday?

To commemorate Maestro Zubin Mehta’s commitment to perfection and excellence in Western classical music over the years, Rolex hosted an evening for the renowned musician’s 80th birthday, at the Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai. 


Dorab Randeria, Managing Director, Rolex India presented the musician with the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40 in white gold. The managing director stated, “Rolex has always encouraged the pursuit of perfection. Having a long-standing relationship with the Arts and especially classical music, there is no better occasion than Maestro Zubin Mehta’s 80th birthday to show Rolex’s appreciation for his contribution to excellence and superlative performance. The Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40, is Rolex’s iconic model, a watch that is worn by more heads of state, leaders and visionaries than any other watch”.
Earlier that evening, Mumbai witnessed Zubin Mehta conducting the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra at NCPA. The highlight was a violin concerto by the soloist Pinchas Zukerman.
