Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will soon meet Femina Miss India runner-up Manya Singh and athlete Priyanka Goswami, who have made not just their parents but also the state proud.
On one hand, while Manya, who hails from UP's Kushinagar, battled all odds to win the runner-up position at Miss India 2020 pageant, on the other, Meerut's Priyanka made her parents and the countrymen proud by creating a national record in women's 20 km race walking event consequently clinching a berth at the Tokyo Olympics this year.
Both Manya and Priyanka have made their families and the state of Uttar Pradesh extremely proud by releasing their dreams and working hard to make them come true.
Daughter of an auto-rickshaw driver, Manya had a difficult childhood, one filled with dreams but no money to realise them. She took up odd jobs like dishwashing, working part-time at a restaurant, going without food or sleep and walking miles just to save a few rupees. But she never gave up. She ran away at the age of 14 to Mumbai to pursue her dreams. When she spoke to her parents about the same, they supported her and shifted base to the city of dreams so that their daughter could turn her dreams into reality. And so she did!
Priyanka on the other hand was a junior clerk in Indian Railways and her success story had humble beginnings too. In one of her interviews, she revealed that the only reason she started participating in athletic events was to get a sports bag that winners would get as a prize.
Meanwhile, Manya's father Omprakash Singh expressed happiness on his daughter feat. He also mentioned how his daughter and he wished to meet CM Yogi Adityanath and were extremely happy that finally, they were going to meet him soon. Omprakash Singh also mentioned how the state government's policies under the able guidance of Yogi Adityanath has helped his daughter turn her dreams into a reality.
