Workshop no. 3 in Sewri's TK Industrial Estate is a sight to behold. It's here that all things metal – sheets, rods, bolts, wires – transform into art under the watchful eye of master sculptor Arzan Khambatta. But now, its nucleus — a room with peeling cobalt blue paint — is a nesting ground for Triptych, a visual ode to travel helmed by Khambatta, Ritam Banerjee and Sona Bahadur.

The Triptych exhibition, ongoing at Worli's Gallery Art & Soul until April 22, highlights their different approaches to travel photography. While former BBC Good Food editor Bahadur is drawn to shapes and patterns, Khambatta finds humour in architecture and form. "My friends call me a Japanese tourist. I take photos of everything, even rocks," he laughs. Professional lensman and cinematographer Ritam Banerjee loves photographing people. His collection spans from visits to five continents — "Like the Olympic rings," he says.

Their photos may be from different places — both literally and figuratively — but the end result, says Bahadur, is one of convergence. "The idea for Triptych came right here, over a cutting chai session while we were seeing each other's work. We've been friends for long , but this project has helped us know more about one another," she concludes.
