With Spirited Stories being the theme of the first edition of The Vault Biennale in the city, founders, makers and ambassadors of world-renowned brands and expressions from the world of luxury beverages will come together for what is being touted as India’s first luxury beverages festival. This weekend is all about tasting the finest luxury beverages, discovering labels, listening to stories behind the history and culture of the spirits and of the mixologists who create magic with it, indulge in masterclasses and experience some of the best bars in the world.

After travelling to far-off places including Guyana, Guadalajara, Haiti, Kentucky, France, England, Scotland, Italy and America among other, Keshav Prakash, who is the brains behind the festival, realised that the one thing people in any place look for is authenticity of the product. And that’s something he wants to showcase at this festival as well. As founder and curator The Vault, Keshav comes across all types of people. While some are satisfied with surface level trivia, others don’t mind spending a few good hours learning more about the history and origins of the drink on the table. “Both are equally important for us. The Biennale is fun, so as not to intimidate people who are seeking surface level information, and at the same time a connoisseur of fine spirits can listen to experts talk about their field,” he reveals. In fact, it is the ‘Listen’ section of the festival that’s most exciting for him. “We hope that the visitors gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the fine spirits by listening to experts behind the beverages,” he said.

The focus might be on luxury beverages, but there will also be a curated range of offerings such as artisan chocolates, ice creams, tea, coffee, gourmand foods and much more.

When: February 16 and 17, 12 noon-7 pm
