Have you noticed the beauty of your city? Your day-to-day busy, work life might be keeping you away from going sightseeing and marvelling at the attaractions in your vicinity.

The renowned pen and ink artist, Prakash Ghadge aims to gather small beauties of our city and put them down in his paintings. While talking about his exhibition, Prakash says, “I am excited to showcase my exhibition with a specific aim to let individuals know the beauty of their own city. I have travelled across the world, yet I always question myself, why do Indians plan their sightseeing outside India? As soon as I returned from my world art tour, I began drawing my own city. That’s when I decided I wanted to do a series on each city with its course of nature too.”

In the series City of Gold in Black & White, he added few Benaras Ghat drawings that help him capture the serene beauty on his canvas. Ghadge always wanted to share that emotion, which often exists for only a moment. He says, “What gives my work its originality is my use of Rotring pen, emphasis on light and shadows. First and foremost, nature is the inspection for my work. Drawing and sketching has always been a part of my life. Wherever I go, my camera or sketch book is always with me so that I can capture all sorts of subjects that I would like to sketch. I have also exhibited my favourite subject related to water (like Ghats, boats, reflections).”
