If you are a shopaholic it’s confession time, for the Sunday Soul Sante is once again here to spoil you with choices. The Sante, which is now an integral part of our city’s lifestyle and culture, is a canvas for creativity.

“Artists and designers from across the country together for this event and it’s for Bangaloreans to make the most of it. Basically the Sante is all about moving away from mall culture. All the products here are one of its kind. You must check out designer Runa Ray’s collection. Meghana Khanna’s line of jewellery will also leave you impressed. And don’t miss out on artist Prasad Bhat’s caricatures either,” says Asha Rao who conceptualised and organises the Sante.

This time too you can take your pick from over 200 stalls. “The idea is to create a common platform for artistic people to come together to showcase their talent be it in arts, crafts, music or food. We also have an activity centre for kids. This year’s theme is Diwali,” adds Asha. Apart from an activity centre, the Sante will include a food court and a talent scouting stage. “Young and popular DJs will be roped in to perform at the venue. Clement and Rohan Kapoor will be among those performing this year,” says Asha. A fashion show by Prasad Bidapa is the other highlight.

The sante this time will be held at Temple Tree, Sahakarnagar, Hebbal. Does this change in venue bother Asha given that every other Sante saw Palace Grounds playing host to the event? “With a new venue comes new ideas. Temple Tree is also a beautiful place. And as long as we firmly believe in what we are doing there is nothing to worry about,” she reasons.

The entry fee to the Sante is Rs49. For elder citizens and children below 10 years of age the entry is free. A breast feeding and nappy changing station has also been arranged. Sante is now pet friendly too. Visit the Sante today, between 11am and 11pm.
