'Success memes' boy raises $75,000 for father's kidney transplant

The famous 'success meme' kid, Sam Griner, helped in gathering funds for his father's kidney transplant treatment.

Griner's parents, Laney and Justin, started a new page in a crowd sourcing Website called GoFundMe to raise $75,000. ABC News reported that the page was formulated to assist Justin Griner in finding a living donor and raise the required money for his treatment.

Although 80% of Justin's post-surgery costs are already covererd through Medicare, the Griner family required more amount to pay the rest of the medical expenses.

The crowd funding plea gathered immense response and support of over four thousand donors, the website also raised more than $93,000 in almost seven days. 

Sam Griner, now 8-year-old, has been a famous figure on the internet since 2007. The child rose to popularity after his mother posted his famous 11-month-old picture of him doing a victory sign on Flickr and Getty. The picture soon went viral on social media platforms as success memes and still does the rounds of the social media sites.
