The animal prints trend seem to be going strong and there’s no stopping the wilderness-inspired clothing. Last season, Donatella Versace put the spotlight on the spots by reviving animalia prints from her later brother Gianni’s rich archive by showcasing a tribute line. And this season, too, spots have been seen on the ramp of Balenciaga, Celine by Hedi Slimane, Rochas and Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello. While Balenciaga sent out a power shoulder animal print top coat, Celine’s show had a statement knee-length number in an abstract format.

Designer Aniket Satam says, “The animal skin trend has conquered the urban jungle for the Fall of 2018, and it has emerged as one of the major trends for the roaring Spring 2019. The spotted feline patterns are more natural mimicking the natural skin tone of big cats such as leopard, jaguar and panther in all its original warmer palette. As most major brands have gone fur-free, printed animal skin has become an urban classic and will be frequently spotted as the key recurring presence in the coming future as well. Along with spotted cats, snakeskin is another key animal hide pattern that we have observed. Just an itsy bit of this wild prints can update your basic wardrobe and quickly accelerate in terms of the chicness meter.”
