From Sandro to Louis Vuitton, from Red Valentino to Versus Versace and Calvin Klein — it’s all about retro prints with an athleisure edge. Designer Nishka Lulla says that the sportified clothing has carried forward in a bolder way. “Stripes, chevron knits, prints in athleisure style is being taken forward. The graphic polo T-shirt teamed with a skirt, sneakers and a baseball cap is having a moment now,” says she.

Designer Rina Dhaka observes that one’s got to borrow elements from here and there — from the past to the future. “Techonology has changed the fashion landscape. Retro is the new retro,” says she.

Designer Kunal Rawal feels that there’s been a retro sporty overkill. “The vintage denim, 80s making a comeback and oversized pieces are having a moment right now. The acid wash finish is major,” says he.

Resurgence of the hip hop

Designer Aniket Satam opines that the resurgence of the hip hop has brought back a lot of references in fashion. “Oversized parkas, the classic V-neck sweater and the joggers twinset have become the most desirable silhouettes for the coming season. Also, thanks to the mammoth fitness revolution which we are seeing, retro sporty has become a part of pop lifestyle,” says he.
