With Valentine’s day around the corner—are you sad and depressed? Are you somebody that everybody likes to ignore? Are you desperately seeking some attention? If all of the above are checked, then read ahead for 'Tips to grab attention on social media'…. Well, even otherwise!
1. To become the 'cool' dude with a global perspective. Take a snap with some foreigner (white skin preferably, (racism not intended). You will find dime a dozen, in every city. Post the picture on Facebook and expect some 'ooohs' and 'aaahs'.
2. Try a new hair cut—even if it is from a local hairdresser. Ensure to ‘check in’ at some upmarket salon and flaunt your fashionable new looks.
3. Walk in to an uber-cool pub, ‘check in’, put some note about the food on your Facebook Wall or tweet it. Rehash online reviews that are already out there and you are now a smart food critic, without spending even a penny!
4. Pretend that your office space is the best place on this planet. Take snaps of some colourful corner and post them. Trust me there is no such place.
5. If you plan to stay at home, order in some heart-shaped donuts from Mad Over Donuts and tweet a pic. Well, at least you have some sweet company!
6. In reality you may want to strangle your kith and kin, but on FB, post as if they are the best thing that can ever happen. Post those happy pics from the worst dinner outing you had with them—everyone thinks you are blessed.
7. Pose around with good-looking colleagues and ensure they look like your best buddies. They can be absolute strangers, but who cares and who will know. Neighbour's envy, owner's pride!
8. Get some unrealistic hobbies just for the online world—post a pic of your gym workout, walk into an art gallery and click a selfie.
9. Write some insanely complicated post about good governance or economy, that nobody actually understands. The more complicated, the more likes for your post. You are eloquent and an intellectual that everybody wants to hang out with.
10. Or if nothing seems exciting, order in a pizza, call your other 'single friends' and have a pyjama party!
