Gorging on a ripe, juicy mango is a summer delight that most of us look forward to. And while nothing beats that experience, no one can deny that the good ol' aam is a fruit that lends itself to different courses. While we love it's ripe juicy avatar, we are also fans of its pure raw form. In fact, many of us have grown up enjoying a quick snack of sliced raw mangoes with a dash of chilli powder and salt thrown in for extra punch. It's pure nostalgia that takes us back in time to our childhood years. Here's revisiting those memories as you tuck into some raw mango delights around town.

Raw mango specials in a thali
As a seasonal special, Khandani Rajdhani has introduced a mango thali that celebrates the not so aam experience honouring the good ol' mango by making it the star ingredient of this platter. You can enjoy raw mangoes in different forms. Begining with the Kaira Samosa, made with a traditional potato filling and raw mangoes, or tuck into the Kairi Chutney , which is a sweet and tangy chutney made with raw mangoes, and jaggery. And goes well with rice. Also, on the menu is Boondi Kairi - made with raw mango and salted boondi, served as an accompaniment to the main course, Kairi Moong dal bhajiya – Prepared with raw mango and yellow moong dal, Aam ki lunji - A typical sweet and sour vegetable pickle,which also happens to be a specialty in this season in every Rajasthani household, Kairi Raita - made from Raw Mango, yogurt and cucumber. Spiced with a tempering of mustard seeds, curry leaves and green chillies, and finally, Aam Panna - A refreshing summer drink.

Kachi kairi on the rocks
Sobo's popular drinking water hole The Local has given this summer beverage a twist. Raw mango pulp, blacksalt, mint, red chilli, soda, vodka and spirte are shaken and stirred and served in a glass to thirsty revelers looking for a cool, summer drink. It's refreshingly sweet and tangy and packs a punch in a glass.

Raw mango kulfi
Want to enjoy a slice of raw mango with a difference, then consider trying Punjab Kulfi's kachi kairi popsicle, which is shaped like a kulfi. Perfect for a hot summer day, you won't mind going green with this one for a change.

Raw mango soup
Beat the heat, with a Mango Mint and Lime soup, which is a spearmint and sour lime infused cold soup.
