It's been raining couture concoctions and we're still to get over the high-decibel hysteria sparked off by the Paris shows. The classic little black dress made its presence felt on the runways of Schiaparelli, who embellished it with butterfly motifs, Giambattista Valli, who presented it in an off-shoulder format with bell sleeves and Versace, who spiked it with spiralling mesh detailing. Alexandre Vauthier sent out a one-shoulder sheer dress with surface shimmer and Giles Deacon and Christian Dior couture both exposed the shoulders. It'll be interesting to see their pairing with Indian baubles. We ask jewellery designers Mrinalini Chandra and Suhani Pittie to offer their unique take...

Jewellery designer Mrinalini Chandra who admires mademoiselle Elsa Schiaparelli has the following suggestions

Schiaparelli

About this outfit, I love the whole OOTD effect. It's so edgy and bold yet dreamy. Pair it with our 'Caught In The Net collar neckpiece, a ring and a palm cuff - all inspired by nature and its quirks. I personally feel the collar will be an interesting take on this outfit. the ring and cuffs are optional.

Giambattista Valli

Club it with our Swarovski stone studded Chair Weave diamond drops statement earrings. The pattern of the earrings focuses on the collar bones which is also what the dress highlights.

Versace

This fierce Versace number needs an equally fierce pair of earrings. We would like to pair it with our Egyptian lotus hand jali cut, Nephertiti ear stud danglers with black onyx drops. These earrings are dynamic and the cutwork identifies the work on the dress.

Designer Suhani Pittie recommends the following pairings

Giles Deacon

This dress which is so beautifully and strongly textured, I would recommend something equally textured with a bit of funk to tone down the maturity in construction. Hence this silver layered leaf necklace which is more horizontal than vertical. or the cuff which has its own doze of pearls gone wild

Alexandre Vauthier

I would love to contradict the super glam see-throughness of the garment with the depth of some tribal love, an element of unexpected contradiction. Hence the broad silver wrap cuff or for some tribal subtlety.. the earrings.

Christian Dior

For the Dior dress, why not complete the sophisticated drama with a stunning mature gold necklace that compliments the color of the buttons? Or the ornament of the moment, these really unusual shoulder-grazing earrings. Just wear your hair neat and off your face. Or, why not wear a cuff on the sleeve of the dress?
