Ralph Lauren and futurism are two things which aren’t usually used in the same sentence but the American design house threw in a pleasant surprise in its Pre-Fall outing by sending out a flurry of metallic silver pieces — from a shimmery trench to a silver-coated flight coat and sparkly shifts.

On the other hand, designer Neil Barrett presented an evening pantsuit with a silver lapel jacket and a shift dress with metallic stripes. Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen wreaked a metallic mayhem by sending out a rash of fully beaded chiffon dresses emitting high-octane shine.

Louis Vuitton too presented a metallic puffer parka jacket layered over sporty ensembles. “The disco narration has definitely extended for the next season as people are recreating glamorous ‘70s staple with a dash of modern refinement.

Shine and metallics have slowly tip-toed into casual zones mixed with street wear silhouettes. Shine is no longer only evening wear,” says Aniket Satam.

Designer Monisha Jaising seconds that. “Minimalists, move over — as one of the most popular trends on the runway and on the streets is —  shine’, everything from oversized sequins to metallic surfacing in stunning palettes!”
