PM Narendra Modi and actress Rekha have been voted as the Hottest Vegetarian Ccelebtrities by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India, according to an IANS report.

PM Modi and Rekha won competition after giving a tough fight to Bollywood bigwigs Amitabh Bachchan, Kangana Ranaut, Hema Malini, Shahid Kapoor, Vidya Balan, R Madhavan and and Television actor Vidyut Jammwal, the PETA statement said.

“Rekha and Prime Minister Modi have inspired caring people everywhere to ditch meat in favour of vegetarian foods”, says PETA India Chief Executive Officer Poorva Joshipura. “Both of PETA India’s winners prove that nothing is hotter than kindness, which they show every time they sit down for a meal.”

According to reports, both Rekha and PM Modi lead a healthy lifestyle that includes doing yoga and follwing a vegetarian diet. PM Modi is said to having only animal friendly vegetarian food, the report added.

PETA India's motto is 'animals are not ours to eat'. Its statement added that the winners of the competition were chosed on the basis of several factors which also included vote count.

Hollywood actors Ellen Page and Jared Leto won the PETA's Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities 2014.

PETA claimed that the 'glow' that the actor had was a result of eat of animal-free diet.
