Of dreams, and a Mumbai

This is a classic love story. With love and hate–for the city that is Mumbai. Balvinder aka Bubbles Siddhu is 50, and feeling like his beloved Mumbai is closing in on him. The play opens with his wife, Behroze suggesting that they move out of their flat in Upper Juhu, better known as Andheri, if it's becoming to much to handle. But like most Mumbaikar's Bubbles can't imagine living anywhere else. When Bubbles loses his job, his mild paranoia graduates to a full-blown nervous breakdown, and a whole new world of crazy begins.

Rajit Kapur and Shernaz Patel are incredible on stage, and ably supported by Shishir Shamra, Kajli Sharma and Meera Khurana as Bubbles' concerned yet cautious siblings. The story and scenarios presented are not-so-unbelievable and most Mumbaikars will find themselves shaking their heads in between laughs. Rahul DaCunha touches upon the realities, pitfalls and chaos of the city with a sarcastic sweep and easy manner enticing the audience to truly think about what is means to to be a Mumbaiker. A light-hearted look at the love-hate relationship that most have with the city that never sleeps, the play makes you wonder–why do we stay in all the madness.
