It was a musical evening. And what an evening it was! An amalgamation of melodies of two cultures, the concerto for sarod, symphonic and electronic orchestra took the mesmerised audience to another level of musical experience. Sarod maestro Amjad Ali Khan, Amaan Ali Khan and Ayaan Ali Khan performed with the Avignon Provence Symphonic Orchestra and the Kords Collective for the Bonjour India.
The beautiful creation, directed by Samuel Jean and written by Pierre Thilloy, enthralled Mumbaikars and audiences in other cities, where the team performed. The maestro and his two sons were in their elements while matching the strings of sarod with melodies of cello, flute and violin. Jean’s symphony kept the audience in rapt attention. And when the French performers greeted their farewell to the city in their heavy accented namaste they only left the audience asking for more.
