Link-ups between cricketers and actors are a common occurrence and especially if the cricketer in question is one of the most eligible bachelors — Yuvraj Singh. In this case however, the ladies keep changing. From his former team owner Preity Zinta, to actress Ameesha Patel, Deepika Padukone and now Bangalore model Akshara Gowda, Yuvi seems to be quite the rage when it comes to romantic link-ups.
However, Akshara is not pleased! “I want to deny this entire thing as there is no truth to it. I know Yuvraj and we have been out for the same social dos many times as we have common friends, but there is absolutely no truth to the link up!” she claims, admitting that she’s been really upset since the news hit the stands. “I was really shocked when I woke up in the morning two days ago and saw the story! I have no clue where the entire thing came from,” says a visibly upset Akshara, who is on the threshold of making her Bollywood debut. “It really got out of hand and I thought it was time about to come clean about it; people are blowing this out of proportion,” she offers.
“How can they refer to me as the luck factor in Yuvraj’s success? It’s like taking credit from all the hard work he’s put in, not to forget the fact that Sachin stood by him during his low phase and the blessings of his Babaji. Do they account for nothing?” asks an exasperated Akshara. “I am busy with my career, I have signed a film with a big banner recently and I am concentrating on my debut. And out of the blue this story comes, it was really not called for,” says the aspiring actor, who belongs to a big political family in Bangalore. “After the news, my parents were really upset. They actually said, ‘you went to Mumbai to work, what is all this?’ I had to sit and explain to them that it is not true and totally uncalled for,” clarifies Akshara, who has known Yuvraj for a long time now.
