Tintin first appeared in a children’s supplement in January 1929. Created by Cartoonist Georges Remi under the pen name Herge, the boy reporter and his world of mystery has been loved by people all over the world. This year Tintin, the boy reporter created by Herge, turned 85! He often laid false trails and played with the names of streets, countries and characters, but people who live in Brussels could always decipher his allusions and other word games. It was easy for locals to work out where the action is really taking place.
Along with the museum dedicated to Herge, various murals related to Tintin can be spotted in Brussels. Here are some pictures that depict scenes from the comic book.
