Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput turn showstoppers for Anita Dongre

Anita Dongre unveiled her latest collection 'Songs of Summer' on Wednesday at the closing on Day 1 of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018. 

The collection focused on the sustainability in fashion which has been Dongre's motto for quite a few years now.

'Songs of Summer' had new silhouettes, Banarasi weaves, colours like soft blue, pink, yellow, green and white, to enhance the much-needed respite "easy, breeziness" of the hot season.

"I've kept in mind summer wedding in a hot summer place. These are the kinds if clothes that you could wear. Everything is in cotton and sheer. Very light and comfortable for every occasion in summer," the designer told media.

Shahid Kapoor graced the runway with his wife Mira Rajput to bring the star power to the fashion world on Day 1 of the LFW 2018 at ITC Grand Hotel in Mumbai.

Shahid Kapoor wore a bandh-gala while Mira was wearing a combination of white lehenga-choli that had pastel blue and pink flowers print and bits of embroidery. She finished the look with a cute flower crown and beautiful choker necklace.

"We start every collection with same passion and enthusiasm. Some garments in the clothing line have been made from R Elan fabric, where they have taken polyester and recycled it. There are four that we've done using that polyester as a sustainable fabric. We have tried to incorporate sustainability in the collection as it is the future," Dongre talked about the collection.
