A song may be more than just lyrics and melody; when sung with soul, it transports you to another realm, one where you are never alone, no matter how much anguish you are experiencing.

The words will instantly ring true when a singer actually feels and experiences what the song is all about. Tarique Mohammed also known as Tariq Faiz is truly blessed with beautiful vocals. He is a singer, composer, poet and lyricist which tells how efficiently he is trained in this field. 

Struggles and hardships

Hailing from Akola, Maharashtra Tariq is an MBBS student at Index Medical College in Indore who also happens to be a fantastic vocalist. When he first heard "Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahab" in 2007, his love for music blossomed. Dr Niraj Lande, a great Indian Classical Vocalist from Patiala Gharana as well as from Dagar Gharana, Disciple of Legendary Ustad Sayiduddeen Dagar Sahab, was his Ustadji when he began practising Indian Classical Music in 2009.

His parents, like any other parents, wanted him to pursue a career in the medical field rather than singing. That is why he was accepted into medical school, but he did not give up on his aspirations.

He was fortunate to have a friend and brother, "Ramiz Faiz," who is a Master of Tabla and a Great Music Composer, who helped him learn and prepare compositions along his journey. He rehearsed for around 8-10 hours a day thanks to his friend's assistance.

After that, Tariq began appearing in concerts with his friends from his hometown. But due to opposition from his family, the team never posted videos as he was the lead singer.

Opportunities & Achievements 
 
During his appearances, he met Brother Aftab Qadri Sahab, a fine artist who gave him a great stage and invited him to perform alongside him all across India. In 2012, he began touring India and abroad, presenting Sufi music.

As a result of this opportunity, he was able to perform alongside legend Rahat Indori Sahab. On his birthday, February 10th, 2019, he had the incredible opportunity to share the stage with the famous Kumar Vishwas Sahab.

A turning point in his life occurred as a result of his continual hard work. He wrote a song called "Khoon Jism me Bahey " on menstruation (periods). Devendra Fadnavis, the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, formally introduced the song.  The song was sung by reality show singers Rasika Borkar & Krutika Borkar, the whole project was done for an NGO free of Cost.
It was a great honour for him and his family, as his parents understood he'd made the proper decision. And was also awarded by Ex Guardian Minister, Dr Ranjeet Patil Sir.

In 2020, he wrote narration & narrated for the film “Khanabadosh", directed by Ajinkya Patil, directed by Ajinkya Patil, a bright and mind-blowing Director from Akola who has won awards at numerous film festivals. The film was presented under short film at the India Film Project Festival. Due to his great efforts, the movie got Selected in the top 100 and was also featured on MTV.

Tariq Faiz has great emotional singing in his journey, one that can be taken to different places with varied moods and audiences again and over again.
