Harry Potter fans, rejoice. After her story earlier this year featuring a grown-up Harry Potter, JK Rowling has now penned another story. The website Pottermore.com announced that the new story will go live on the site on October 31.

The last time, her story was witnessed through the acerbic pen of newspaper-woman Rita Skeeter. This time her focus is one of the series' most-hated characters, Dolores Umbridge.

Umbridge first appeared in the fifth Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Order of  the Phoenix as the Minister for Magic's Senior Undersecretary.

The former Hogwarts professor was known for her love for pink, for punishing children and for getting Harry to use a Blood Quill, scarring himself with the line, "I must not tell lies".

In the books, she was arrested and sentenced to a life sentence in Azkaban for crimes against Muggle-borns. “Umbridge is not only one of the most malicious Potter characters, she is the only person other than Lord Voldemort to leave a permanent physical scar on Harry,” said the statement on Pottermore.com.

The site hinted at a "rich, 1700-word back story about Umbridge's life” that would reveal the author’s “first-person thoughts and reflections about the character".

In July, Rowling had released a story which saw Harry Potter as a 33-year-old, reuniting with Ronald Weasley, Hermione Granger, Luna Lovegood and Neville Longbottom for the Quidditch World Cup final. The site received so much traffic that it crashed.

The new story is expected to go online on October 31.

It’s not just her short stories that will feature Harry Potter and his gang. The Daily Mail, UK, reports that she has submitted plans to build a cottage similar to that of Hogwarts caretaker Hagrid’s hut at her estate in Perthshire. Earlier this year, Rowling revealed she would be writing the screenplays for 'at least' a trilogy of Harry Potter spin-off films.

She is currently working on the screenplay for the three-part film adaptation  of Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. The first installment is due in 2016.
