It's a SCARY feast, restaurants serve up their Halloween special menus

More and more restaurants, bars and lounges are offering Halloween special menus, finds After Hrs.

Come October 31, and chances are that your regular haunt won’t be as warm and cozy a place to hang out, like it always is. Watch out, city restaurants, lounges and bars are all set to spook you out in the spirit of Halloween, with skeletons, vampires and draculas. And they have a scarier menu to match the decor.

Drinks of the dead ...or shoud we say, the undead
Copa, Juhu:

Restauranteurs Hitesh Keswani and Kabbir Luthria are turning Copa into a spooky villa for the Halloween Night. Apart from the giving out props like vampire fangs and devil’s horns to their patrons, they also plan to set up a live make-up station where guests can get some ghoulish face painting done.  Get set to sip drinks like Vamptini (blood red martini with cranberry sparkle), Devil’s Kamikaze and Vampire’s Kiss (strawberry, vermouth and a dash of gin).

LIV, Fort:
Check out their cocktails like Love at 1st bite (peach schnapps/Irish cream liqueur/grenadine syrup), Wicked whisky sour (smoky whisky/fresh lemon juice/vanilla syrup), Shrunken heads (Dry vermouth/Gin/pickled beetroots), and more

F.Lounge.Diner.Bar, Lower Parel:
Brace yourself to face piles and piles of skeletons and bones if you are heading to F.Lounge. Apart from the regular drinks menu, there are dark drinks like Strawberry and Black Pepper Mojito and Blood On The Roof Top. Aaaaaa!

Barman, Palladium Hotel:
Raj Khan Pathan, Service Manager Head at Barman, in his ‘Halloween Spirit’ has been blending up a storm at the bar and has concocted cocktails like the Howler, Very Bloody Mary and Blue Moon.

The Little Door , Andheri:
Spooky cocktails, complimentary “Thriller” shots every hour, fun props, games and surprises to keep you entertained through the night and an ambiance to go with the theme. You can order drinks like their Brain haemorrhage shot, Vampire’s kiss, and Deathly Hallows. And the best dressed patron can also stake claim to a prize — Sunday karaoke Drunch for two on the house.

Bottle Bar, Fort:
Sip on Black devil martini, Witch hunt, Halloween brew. Their special Halloween cocktail menu is already being served.

skky and Café Ambrosia, Ramada, Powai:

Soups with names like Charming white Angels in the dark night, Dark secret treasures, and Bouquet on the white grave are sure to send chills down your spine. For appetisers, you could choose from offerings like Blood drenched coffins, Tempura coated Egyptian mummies, Blood soaked white souls, Pierced black voodoo, Dragon from the East and Demons blackened hearts. Now these may sound scary but they sure taste good. The scare-feast continues into the maincourse and desserts.

Cheval, Colaba
Cheval’s calling their Halloween special Thriller Chillers. In soups, they will be serving Blood shots (a beetroot soup), Witches fingers (Parmesan Grissini with romesco),
Devilled chicken wings (Confit wings, chili glaze, black sesame), Cremated goat (ash coated goat’s cheese, honey, hazelnuts), Rest in peas (garlic crostini, broad bean and pea dip), Devils on horseback. And desserts have names like Eyeball lollipops, Ghoulish chocolate cookies and Ghostly Meringue.

Auriga, Mahalaxmi:
Dragon blood beverages, and food that can kill, they are dedicated to Spook people out — drinks with smoke desserts overpouring with alcohol. 

White Owl, Lower Parel:
An elaborate menu of soups (Blood tomato and peas), appetisers (Mozzarella gone mad),     Sandwiches (Monsterwich, Ogre sliders, Owtails) and cocktails (Owlshots, Bloody Kamikaze and more).

Saptami, Holiday Inn, Andheri East
7.30 pm onwards Cost per person: Rs1199

Halloween Buffet
Executive chef of Holiday Inn, Sudhir Pai has designed a special menu for the eve, which has vampires, evil spiders, ghosts eyes, scary reptiles and anything else that you can imagine. The scary salad section has names like the Vampire deadly bite (Apple with cheese mousse), Evil spider (Bocconcini with sumac), Blood of aged soul (Organic beet root juice), Ghost  eye  (egg tuna mimosa), and Scary reptiles (Fried chicken sausages tossed BBQ sauce with lamb couscous). Similarly, the starters have been named as Insect fry (Breaded Fish Fingers ), Scary roast chicken onion jus, and Ghost tenderloin. Also this is perhaps the only place in the city to offer an Indian take on Halloween foods with dishes like Khooni paneer ka khurchan, Subz ki maut wali kadai, Dal ko khooni tadka, Khaufnaak aloo, and Shaitani Aakhon Wale Chawal. For desserts, you could choose from Ghoulish petits fours, Scary pear heads, Tombstone pumpkin cake, Alhambra bewitched, Crooked chorus, and Dirty vanilla fingers.

Kids Scare Express
Piccoli Tortini, Bandra
Priya Ramani, owner and chef of the pasticceria Piccoli Tortini has planned a Halloween party for kids alongwith her team. A six-course meal with dishes like Witch’s Brew (soup served with a breadstick broom as stirrer), Graveyard Stone sandwiches (with R.I.P written on them), Chocolate spider cupcakes, Spooky pumpkin cupcakes, Eyeball pasta, Bug em pancakes, and drinks like Goblin Goo (Kala khatta flavoured drink with jelly) and Wriggly worm potion (milk based hot/cold drink) will be served.

Entertaining the kids as they dig into the horror foods will be Dracula magic acts.
