International Wine Festival receives huge response; Bangaloreans take to organic wines

As the last day of International Wine Festival organised by the Karnataka Wine Board Association held at Jayamahal Palace Hotel winded up on Sunday, one realised that Bangaloreans seem to be very health conscious even in sipping and buying wine. This time organic wine has attracted more number of people who bought wines. The content added in the organic wine are all natural substances. It is grown in enriched soil. The organic wine contains natural alcoholic element and it is very good for health.

Rudragowdar, the owner of Nesara Vine Yard stall from Bagalkotte, told dna, "There is suitable climate, soil and fresh water to grow enriched grapes to make organic wine. The percentage of alcohol is naturally formed and no flavour is added. People are more conscious about their health, having this type of wine is very good and there is no drowsiness by consuming it like other wines".

Wines from France were more in demand than ones from other countries. "There are 107 varieties of wines in our shop. Wine originated from France so people have the conception that French wine is the best. There are wines from Germany, Australia, South Africa, Italian, California, New Zealand but French wines sold like hot cakes. These wines contains 12-14% of alcohol content", says a shop keeper at the mela, Madhuloka.

"Bangaloreans are crazy about wines and tasting different variety of it. In three days, 600 cases have been sold and 15 lakh is profit have been collected. Wines are sold in litres at our shop which is cheaper, even a common man can afford it," says P L Venkatarama Reddy, managing director of a wine store.
