Designer Poonam Bhagat is offering you a slice of Samarkand with her new collection. Inspired by the vividity of Central Asian Suzani (vibrantly embroidered fabrics which were traditionally handcrafted by Central Asian brides as part of their dowry and were presented to the groom on the wedding day) specifically from the regions of Samarkand, Bukhara, Tashkent and Shar-i-Sabz, the collection comprises short dresses, jumpsuits and long robes. The design motifs include inspirations from nature and play around with reds, blacks, ivories and emeralds.

In fact, who knows, you might learn a thing or two as well, in case you’re helping to plan a wedding in the family.

Music lovers in the city are in for an aural treat at the Love & Peace concert being organised by Shrutiyaan. Themed around celebrating the girl child and Nirbhaya, the annual concert that’s held in the memory of table maestro Pt. Chatur Lal promises to be exciting affair, thanks especially to the jugalbandi by Roop Kumar Rathod, Pt Ajay Pohankar and Abhijit Pohankar.

Besides this rich musical treat, the program also includes an art exhibition of works by Sandhya Sirsi, sand art creation by Hari Krishna and a percussion performance by Pranshu Chatur Lal. A coming together of some of the best creative minds, don’t give this event a miss if you can help it.
