The idea of getting a tattoo has always been a polarising topic as while one section sees it as an expresssion and an extension of themselves, others are not on board with the permanent inking on their body. However, when like minds meet, sparks fly and romance happens, and somewhere down the line after their paths have crossed, the idea of getting inked together blossoms. ARIANA GRANDE AND PETE DAVIDSON
Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson and singer Ariana Grande made news for their flash engagement after dating for approximately one month. And their relationship grew with each tattoo they chose to get inked. Shortly after the couple went Instagram official, Davidson got a tattoo of the bunny mask from Grande’s Dangerous Woman album cover behind his ear. Right after news that the couple was engaged, Grande announced her upcoming fragrance, which has a bottle shaped like a cloud. The duo soon showed off matching cloud tattoos on the middle fingers of their left hands, shaped similarly to the bottle of the fragrance. In the middle of June, The Cut reported that Grande and friend Courtney Chipolone got tattoos of an acronym of Grande’s favorite phrase, “Honest to God, knock me out,” shortened to “H2GKMO.” While the Instagram story showed the tattoo on Grande and Chipolone and just tagged Davidson, it’s clear from his account that he also got the shortened phrase tattooed. On the same day they got the H2GKMO tattoos, Davidson got a tattoo that reads “REBORN,” according to Us Magazine. Grande got a tattoo with the same word, which she posted to her Instagram Story, as tweeted by Twitter user @reillyfaberrr. Also, Pete’s father, Scott Davidson, was a firefighter who died during the attacks on New York City on September 11, 2001. His badge number was 8418, and Davidson already has the numbers tattooed on his left forearm. JOE JONAS AND SOPHIE TURNER
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner recently decided to get inked together, each honouring their respective grandfathers. According to Just Jared, the two got tattoos by Mr K at celeb-fave ink spot Bang Bang Tattoos. Jonas opted for a postage-stamp-esque portrait of “PaPa Miller,” with what appears to be his birthdate (August 21, 1940) below. He shared the final results on Instagram. Turner too paid tribute to her grandfather (whom she called her “hero” on Instagram) with a delicate tattoo on her pinkie finger. However, this is not the first time the couple has got a tattoo in the name of love. Jonas got a tattoo of Turner on his arm — along with some potentially coded messaging — back in March. The tattoo, a line art representation of a woman looking over her shoulder, was placed right below some ink of an intricate knot. Given that the couple are engaged, some fans think it indicates the “tying the knot with Sophie”. Cleary, these two don’t mind wearing their heart on their skin.
