With Valentine’s Day just round the corner, couples looking for a unique dining experience, can now zone in on Art Deck and Bar, the newest entrant, to the floating restaurant concept. Docked in the middle of the Arabian sea, this restaurant and lounge bar is spread over three levels, and serves contemporary fusion cuisine, drawing inspiration from European, Italian and Asian fare.

Getting there: Your best option is to get into a cab from Bandra station or drive from there. Head to Bandra-Worli Sea Link, and get off 100 metres before the toll plaza. Look out for the AB Celestial board on the left hand side. From there, you have to make your way to the jetty, where you will be ferried to Ark on speed boats. We recommend you head there just before sunset for an amazing view.

Food

The menu draws influences from Asian, Italian and Eurpoean fare. So, you can start with a salad, we tried the Quinoa Tabbouleh (Rs 320), which was refreshing. For starters, we called for the Tartines (Rs 430), made with goat cheese, betroot, and some walnuts added for crunch, and the Chicken Biscuit Sliders (Rs 480), (we were expecting sliders but got half a sub, so we are not sure if it’s the aquatic influence that the kitchen was going for. Taste-wise this is worth a try. For mains, we tried the Steak Dog (Rs 520) a balsamic roasted chicken with some chilli mash and double cheese. This was good, and washed that down with a Mojito (Rs 650) and Between the Sheets (Rs 650) a brandy based orange cocktail. For desserts, we ordered the Tiramisu (Rs 600), which was decent.

Service

The staff was polite and courteous, but they do need to brush up as service was a bit slow, and there was some confusion, with double orders arriving at the table. We are putting that down to teething problems and hope that this will be sorted soon.
