Holly hotties Kristen Stewart and  Rihanna created an interesting diversion with their regular pants — they had interesting prints on them.  Back home, it is no different. Bollywood actor Neha Dhupia  stepped out in a similar avatar with a tight fit that had interesting designs on it. Actor Kalki Koechlin has often been spotted wearing pants with prints. Considering the timing the style is trending at, printed pants are set to be a rage this monsoon.

Says veteran designer Ritu Kumar, who feels that the metal age style  is making a comeback, “The new age modern woman is unafraid to try out cutting edge fashion. She is open to accepting the unconventional and discarding anything that’s too laid-back. So prints that reflect perplexing digital graphics, tribal prints or intricate not-so-simple designs, work wonders. The printed slim fit pants are one such highly dramatic, yet very edgy example of such a style. It’s also perfect for monsoons as even if they get a bit soiled, it’s not really visible.”

Says designer Ana Singh, “Printed pants, be it in graphic, floral or paisley print, look super hot with monochromatic tops and pumps. They create an illusion of slender frame. Prints like ikat look absolutely stunning on slim fits. Besides,   for Mumbai, which is is perennially flooded in the rains, slim pants are a great option. They can be paired with contrast or neon pvc sandals. Also they can be teamed along with jacket for a slightly formal look.”

Though casual, it can, with the right accessories, transform into an outfit for an evening out. “They are so versatile because of the design element being concentrated on the lower half. Teaming them with plain coloured tops or knot shirt just makes them also part of evening wear. A sling bag to go along is just perfect,” adds designer Lina Tipnis.
