FACE FIRST

There are plenty of treatments that help achieve glowing facial skin. Laser toning for facial rejuvenation and pigment correction, Radiofrequency (RF) for skin tightening, chemical peels for acne and blemishes as well as overall skin glow, are few procedures that are always in demand during the festive season. Tri-Beam Laser toning treatment is suitable for all age groups, especially for men and women in their late 20s and above. It’ll make your skin blemish and spot-free with a brightening effect. RF for skin tightening is safe and effective for those in their late 30s and above, as ageing signs like wrinkles start appearing then. It is also a good add-on treatment along with Botox and dermal fillers for facial rejuvenation. The effects usually last for four to six weeks. With laser toning the effect lasts longer. Sun protection and use of appropriate serums or creams help further. It’s not just women but men too come in for skin tightening and laser toning treatments. Uneven skin tone due to prolonged sun exposure is also a major concern for males.

MAKE ME UP

First and foremost, you need to hydrate your skin with a moisturiser and a primer depending on your skin type. A lot of products are available in the market. I personally love the Bioderma moisturiser and Smashbox primer. For the base, instead of going for a high coverage foundation opt for a sheer coverage, which gives you a flawless finish. Metallic eyeshadows are the next thing that make your skin look fresh. There are beautiful lavender and grey shades available in the market. A highlighter is to be applied on the high points of the face — the cheekbones, brow bone, and nose. They bring an instant glow. One of my favourite highlighters is from Becca champagne pop and Makeup Revolution too has some amazing shades. Use brushes for your make-up application for a smooth effect. For a day event, a beautiful peach blush works well on the apple of the cheeks and for the night, glam it up with a deep shade of pink. Finish off with a liquid matte lipstick.

BODY BEAUTIFUL

There are various ways to achieve a body glow. In terms of treatment one can go in for a Chemical peel, and a Body polishing and Laser Peel. Gently scrubbing the body once a week is enough to exfoliate dead skin. At home, you can use a mix of curd, olive oil, honey and sugar. Another scrub can also be made by combining coconut oil and turmeric. Follow it up with a body lotion. These are generally lighter in texture and more easily absorbed. However, because of the high water content, lotions aren’t as long-lasting as oils. They are good as a sheer moisturiser and are better for skin that isn’t very dry, or for people who tend to have oily skin. Those with very dry skin need additional ingredients in a moisturiser such as ceramides. Sensitive skin needs products that are free of paraben, sulfates and fragrance.
