A unique design writing workshop organised by the British Council and Kyoorius, titled Create Change — capturing inspirational design stories, will be held tomorrow. Conducted by acclaimed British journalist William Shaw who has written widely about art, design and popular culture, participants will learn through discussions and assignments methods of writing stories of design — tracing how it has had an impact on society at large.

They will be motivated to develop their own writing style and learn to research design stories in their own context. Aanchal Sodhani, British Council says, “We want to bring out the voices from the design community of how design has and continues to affect and create change in every part of our lives from something like cities to something micro like a paper clip.”

Interested candidates can apply by sending in a sample of their writing on design to aanchal.sodhani@in.britishcouncil.org with KDY Design Writing as the subject. Further, a lucky few candidates from the workshop will get the opportunity to learn under William and other international writers and contribute to an independent publication produced by Kyoorius. This workshop aims to inspire young designers to become experts of design.

When & Where: May 17, 10 am-5 pm, British Council, One Indiabulls Centre, Elphinstone Road.
